Digital Millennium Copyright Act Policy

Language Translator respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users to do the same. In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA"), we will respond expeditiously to notices of alleged copyright infringement.

1. Copyright Policy

It is our policy to:

  • Respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the DMCA
  • Terminate, in appropriate circumstances, users who are repeat infringers
  • Not store or transmit user-generated translations permanently on our servers

2. Notice of Copyright Infringement

If you believe that your copyrighted work has been copied or translated in a way that constitutes copyright infringement and is accessible through our service, please notify our copyright agent as specified below.

Required Information

Your DMCA notice must include the following information:

  1. A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of the copyright interest
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or, if multiple copyrighted works are covered by a single notification, a representative list of such works
  3. Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity, including information sufficient to locate the material
  4. Your contact information, including address, telephone number, and email address
  5. A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
  6. A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of the copyright interest

3. Counter-Notification

If you believe that material you posted was removed or access to it was disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may file a counter-notification with our copyright agent.

Required Information for Counter-Notice

Your counter-notification must include:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature
  2. Identification of the material that has been removed or disabled and the location where it appeared before removal
  3. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification
  4. Your name, address, telephone number, and email address
  5. A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district in which your address is located, and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided the original DMCA notification

4. Designated Copyright Agent

Notices and counter-notices must be sent to our designated copyright agent:

5. Our Response to DMCA Notices

Upon receipt of a valid DMCA notice, we will:

  • Remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material
  • Notify the user who posted the material
  • Terminate repeat infringers' access to the service

6. Important Notes

No User Content Storage: Our service does not permanently store user translations on our servers. Translations are processed in real-time through third-party APIs and are not retained.

False Claims: Please note that under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material or activity is infringing may be subject to liability.

7. Respecting Copyright

8. Repeat Infringer Policy

We reserve the right to terminate access to our service for users who are repeat copyright infringers. We maintain a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are repeat infringers.
